Our Mission & Vision

The Tema Presbytery came into being on 1st September 2015 as a result of 2015 Synod decision to split Accra Presbytery into two because to its huge size and to enable for adequate oversight administration and supervision of the congregations in the two Presbyteries. A committee was put in place to map out the split and the management of assets and out of its recommendation the present composition of the Tema Presbytery was established.

The Presbytery spans arears from Teshie, Nungua, Tema, and its environs, Ashaiman through to Katamanso, Afienya and Dawhenya through to Prampram. Like all other Presbyteries, the Tema Presbytery is administered by a six-member Executive Committee headed by the Presbytery Chairman. They are responsible to oversee the smooth running of all the congregations within the Presbytery.

Our vision is to continue expanding the Presbytery by opening new congregations in the growing settlement areas. Evangelism and church planting are the major activities. We also engage in some social activities at both the congregational and presbytery levels. For instance, we visit and make donations to Veterans Association of Ghana and Tema General Hospital Children's Ward during the festive season of every year. Our congregations also engage in educational infrastructure development within the Presbytery and we currently have 4 basic schools from kindergarten to JHS level.
